Since the Shine On Foundation’s inception in 2013, we have been blessed with the opportunity to help more than 45 Saskatchewan families. We have supported these families with once in a lifetime trips, medical cost coverage, child care expense coverage, and even the purchase of a travel trailer. We have gifted in excess of $600,000 to our recipient families. We have done this while being entirely volunteer-run, enabling our donors’ dollars to impact recipient families to the

fullest extent. The support of our donors through donations and at numerous events has been instrumental in allowing Shine On to assist mothers facing an advanced cancer diagnosis. It has been a true honour to have had the community support over the last 9 years.

I know that Chantelle, who not only inspired but also helped create the foundation, would be proud of the many lives that Shine On impacted.

It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing that the Shine On Foundation will no longer be accepting applications and will be ceasing operations. The challenging fundraising, volunteering and travel environment contributed to this very difficult decision. It is my sincere hope that those who were positively impacted by the foundation, and ultimately Chantelle’s inspiration, will look to pay forward in some small way the kindness that was extended to them and positively impact other’s lives in their communities. Ultimately, the ability to impact those around you, through even the smallest of gestures is within all of us.

The support my family received prior to Chantelle’s passing continues to fill my heart with gratitude. That support inspired Shine On, and I will be forever grateful.

Shine On!
